Boulder Creek 4th of July Parade a Raging Success
Hundreds turned out for the hugely popular annual Boulder Creek 4th of July Parade hosted by the BCBA. The BC Volunteer Fire Department Pancake Breakfast and the music, BBQ, and panning for gold at Junction Park hosted by BCRPD made exciting bookends to the parade. Special thanks to Erin Ruth Thompson of Boulder Creek’s Crooked Road Ceili Band for singing the National Anthem, which “sent chills” and elicited cheers. Thanks to the hard work of Doug and Ann Marie Conrad at Boulder Creek Hardware and the amazing behind-the-scenes efforts of Chris and Nancy Currier, the BCBA board members, and to everyone who participated in the parade. It was a glorious day in downtown Boulder Creek for the kids and the young at heart.
Boulder Creek Business of the Month – ArtTerie
Inez Liu and her husband, Jorge Delgado, knew that Boulder Creek was the perfect place to change life’s pace and open an art gallery/ceramic painting studio. When a spot became available next to New Leaf, they were excited to open business in the town they had called home for the past six years. It’s a bright and airy spot that serves as the perfect home for their multi-faceted business. In the front of the shop, you’ll find the gallery featuring various artists. Inez likes to change up her gallery once a month. She has featured ceramic artists, wood media, and will present a Burning Man inspired light installation in the near future. Jorge works in the large back room on his cinematography and digital art. The couple also teaches ceramics, watercolor, and other forms of art for young people in this backroom space. They have many examples of their student work in the gallery window. In their free time, they like to explore the woods with their daughter, and practice Wing Chun kung fu. Visit the gallery at 13155 Highway 9 in downtown Boulder Creek. For more information about classes: email@example.com | 408-390-8866
Congratulations Bruce Walker Winner of $100 at June’s Made in the Mountains Event
Made in the Mountains thank you winner for June is Bruce Walker. He was a character!! Everyone seemed to know him and they were all thrilled he’d been the winner. He made his original purchase at Boulder Creek Hardware and when he won, he chose to split the winnings equally between Ronnie’s Meat Market and the Boulder Creek Brewery Outpost. Right after taking the picture at the Brewery, he said he was going to use the gift certificate right away and get a beer – it was a hot afternoon that called for it! He also said that he’d buy the house a round the next time he was in! Nice guy! The BCBA will be giving out another $100 thank you during July’s Made in the Mountains local artist community event. Shop or dine from 3:00-6:00 PM on Saturday, July 15th in any Boulder Creek business and spend $50 or more, then drop your receipt in the red box outside of the new Century 21 office for your chance to win the $100 thank you from the BCBA. www.facebook.com/bouldercreekmadeinthemountains
