BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY AND CITY OF SCOTTS VALLEY PARTNER TO OFFER NEW SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA — April 29, 2021 — With summer just around the corner, and kids and parents ready for a “real” and fun summer, the City of Scotts Valley and Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County are pleased to announce a new partnership to expand summer camp programs in Scotts Valley.

 

“We are excited to be partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs to ensure that kids and families in our community have a fun and safe place to go during summer vacation,” stated Scotts Valley Mayor Derek Timm, “The City understands the great need for quality child care and how eager our families are for a healthy, safe, fun and positive summer.  This unique partnership expands on the excellent services offered at the Joe & Linda Aliberti Clubhouse to support even more kids and families.”

 

The new program, “Camp Scotts Valley”, will be held at the Scotts Valley Community Center in Skypark and operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County. Open to local youth ages 6-18, Camp Scotts Valley will run weekdays, June 14 through August 6, during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration for the program will open on May 10th, 2021.  Families who may need financial assistance are encouraged to apply. Camp Scotts Valley offers scholarship support.

 

Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County Clubhouses have been open and safely providing academic support for youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Member safety is and always has been our highest priority and Camp Scotts Valley will be operated in strict compliance with local and state CDC guidelines. Our experience tells us that there is a way to have fun and stay safe. Adding Camp Scotts Valley to our summer programs is exciting and something we’ve hoped to do for some time now,” says Maia Yates, Director of Program Services, BGCSCC.
