California Statewide Fire Summary

CAL FIRE

More than 8,700 firefighters covering 1,246 fire engines, 130 dozers, 152 hand crews, 122 water tenders, 43 helicopters and numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the state are battling three large wildfires in California. Out of state resources continue to arrive and assist in these wind-driven fires that have burned more than 235,845 acres and destroyed thousands of structures.

In Northern California, dry weather continues with cool nights and near to above-normal days through the early weeks of November. Widespread smoke from the Camp Fire will continue to impact the area. In Southern California, the combination of strong winds, low humidity, and very dry fuels could lead to explosive fire growth from any fire starts.

With these current extreme fire conditions throughout the state, don’t wait to evacuate! You should already be PREPARED and GO! early. If you see fire approaching, don’t wait to be told to leave.
