Boulder Creek has held a 4th of July Parade for generations: it’s a summer highlight for many locals. This year, the Boulder Creek Business Association (BCBA), which organizes the event, has worked hard to create a virtual parade that reflects the same elements of years past. The “parade” will be streamed live online—July 4th at 10am at BCBA.net It will feature a collection of videos, still photos, footage from previous parade years, plus interviews highlighting the history of the town and the parade. After the parade, the streaming will continue with music from 6 local bands, instead of the usual concert at Junction Park.

BCBA is collecting video submissions from the community—creativity and fun are key! Decorate your car and take a quick video on your phone, or make a mini parade float, send in a still photo of your family, film your cats walking by… This year’s parade will be the most creative yet! (See submission information at BCBA.net. Deadline to submit is June 22nd at 5pm.)

A number of local organizations are working to make this event happen: KBCZ, lille aeske, the Boulder Creek Recreation Department, and Chas Crowder are combining forces to create an event that brings the community together virtually in a time when we are all craving connection, community, and tradition.
