The New Decade in Resolve

A Case for Critical Change

by Lori Suzanne Holetz
Here we are, just over the threshold of a new time; a new year, a new decade, a new world, where we can remind ourselves that the only constant is change. We are now at that proverbial starting line of the year where it has become an odd tradition to make resolutions that so often become forgotten within the first few weeks of January. With reflection of old, and a gaze into our global future, our world has never been smaller. Advanced technology has made it all possible with the tiniest of electric impulses; we can reach out and touch anyone, anywhere in the world in a matter of seconds. Unprecedented shift and change are the theme of this extraordinary time. A good choice in any matter is the best intention and intention is everything. How will you use your intended choice? What can you do today to contribute to the turnaround of health and well-being of our shared home in Earth? The planet is in critical condition like never before. Of anything, anywhere, our Great Mother Earth is now, a top priority! For She, is the foundation of us all.

We all find ourselves in trouble, together; every one living thing at this time, is in jeopardy with continued devastation on a daily basis. What to do, what to do? The best change begins in our own homes and it is here that we can make the biggest impact, shifts and changes the fastest. It is at our hands, the way we choose to live every day. Knowledge comes hand in hand with responsibility, and this in turn demands conscious action. Anything less is to remain less than what we all have the ability to be at this advanced evolutionary stage of the race game. Here is a list of simple things we can all do beginning immediately, that are a must if we are going to be responsible and proactive with the knowledge of the Earth’s continued devastation.

Your body is a sacred temple
Do right by yourself first. Focus on your health and well-being and it will flow out onto others in positive examples. Remember, you are what you eat, so eat well. Eating well does not mean overeating. It means being educated about what you are consuming or preparing for your family for the best possible output of continuous vitality, energy and luminous vibrancy. With a satisfied internal environment, the possibilities of achievement are endless, and you will have the enthusiasm and excitement to do whatever you wish to create. Bon Appetit!

Make your home space a place of beauty
Home is your soft place to land and is the base from which your life flows out each day. Order and tidiness promote simplicity and clarity as we step out each day. Start with making your bed in the morning. You will be surprised how much difference this can make with the start of your day. Work out from there, making your space and place a lovely environ to come back to; for others to drop by, you are ever ready. Create beauty!

Purge
We have now stepped into a world where less is more. Our country especially amongst the countries of the world has been programmed in the name of profit, that bigger, more, enormous is better. We have now come to see that more is not necessarily better and rather leads to excess that quickly becomes burdensome. Begin with a “one drawer a day”, clean and purge, getting rid of anything you simply do not use. In seven days, you will be surprised at how much we accumulate and never use. Enjoy making space! Vow to keep it clear.

Contribute to a non-profit earth-friendly organization
Even the smallest of contributions adds to the collective whole and can make an enormous difference for those who are suffering. Whether it is the planet, animals, ocean, land or humans; the gesture itself will promote healing and give you a satisfying sense of doing something positive for the greater good. Be a Steward of the Earth!

Tell the children “Why”
Our children are brilliant star beings. They are of the most advanced human genetics, often surprisingly coming into this world knowing things before they are taught. If we take the time to explain why things are the way they are and what we can do to make positive changes, our children will grow into understanding. Understanding leads to well-adjusted and balanced grown-ups. We, by gently guiding our kids, are all working on our collective future together. These crystalline kids are the saviors of Mother Earth and will come up with all the new systems that will heal our environment…. They already are!

Respect our waters
Above all else, water is critical to survival and every drop does matter. The condition of our global waters is frightening and calls for immediate action. While we can’t all just go out and scoop garbage out of the sea, we can pick up any and all trash we see, by land or sea. The great mother Ocean is the origin of all and is from which all flows. If our waters are not healthy, neither are we. Again, start in the home and be as conservative as possible. Water is an entity with life and spirit, and all water is connected through resonant vibration. Do whatever you can to keep it clear, clean and pure! Honor thy waters!

Ditch the plastic habit in all ways!
There is an earth-friendly solution to everything. Go back to glass. Matches instead of Bic disposable plastic lighters are making a comeback. Discover the fun of using eco-friendly bee wraps for food storage. Learn to make pottery ceramics and use your own creations. Be vigilant and talk with food businesses to suggest alternatives to single-use anything and voice your concerns. Just the other day I spoke with Wild Roots about using all compostable produce bags. Be bold and fervent in your resolve; it will be a positive contagion for a change!

Walk, ride a bike, take a bus
Cut back on automobile use whenever possible. The global petroleum addition is our biggest challenge at this crossroads. Every time we mindlessly startup our auto, we discharge carbon, increase dark matter, carbon footprints and increase the demand for more. Group together errands for less trips, carpool, get rid of excess cars. There are lots of ways to cut back… give it a go!

Pick up any and all trash you see on the ground
Self-explanatory. Be and live the change at all times; actions are always more impactful than just words. Better yet, helping “just because it’s the right thing to do” is an enormous measure of good character. Our valley is full of great characters…. Pick it up!

RE, Re, re…….
Reduce, recycle, reuse, refill, refine, rethink, redo, reaffirm, respond and reflect a higher refreshed consciousness. Let go of regrets and remorse. Relax…reach for the stars and rejoice in the remedies. Relinquish the illusion of control. It is this easy. And what a relief! Spend time remembering and reminisce, reconnect with your higher self, family and friends. Be a remarkable example!

Comb through your life, scrutinize everything. Where can we do better? Then just do it. Do better in everything…. with a new perspective, a new way of being, a new change … one day at a time. Be impeccable within yourself, the world will thank you for it! Teach the children well. If we all do it, just imagine the power of resolve of all OUR collective efforts. Now that’s a RESOLUTION worth sticking to!
