The annual Summer Reading Program runs June through July at the Santa Cruz Public
Libraries, and is all about supporting summer learning through reading, programs, and
events. Community members are encouraged to sign up and track how much they read
this summer. There are prizes and programs for all ages.
The theme this year for the Summer Reading Program is: Find your Voice! Our voices
have power. We use our voices to share stories, express ourselves, and spark change.
Our voices include not only the sounds we make, but the words we write, the art we
create, the movements we perform, and the actions we take each day to impact our world.
The Library encourages the community to read for fun, to learn a new skill, to make a new
friend… Library programs and events are free and focused on maintaining and improving
reading skills, exploring inside and out, and building up our community. Learn more and

ABOUT THE SANTA CRUZ PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM:

Santa Cruz Public Libraries (SCPL) brings people, information, and resources together to
enrich lives and strengthen the community. SCPL gives every Santa Cruz community
member the opportunity to learn through educational resources, classes, and staff support.
The Library develops programs for the broad community as well as for specific groups like
students, seniors, and those who are most vulnerable, including the unhoused and
incarcerated. SCPL also curates specialty collections, like genealogy and local history.
