Sunshine, Sol, and Sanguine

Summer lingers, toes stretched, the sun intense still in her saucy,
slightly slanted, pre-autumn ways. Crisper mornings, the woods
laced with ribbons of mist. An evening stroll finds solace from the
early dusk in a fragrant breeze. To welcome the harvest moon.
The Santa Cruz Mountains never sleep; there is a rhythm here like
no other place. Thrilled throughout the length of summer by music
fests and swimming holes, things merely become more real as the
days draw short and the nights close in long, starry, and electric with
places to go and peeps to hook up with.
Welcome revelers to this time of end-of-season tastes, smells, and
sensation with The Santa Cruz Mountain Sol Festival (now three
days!) September 21, 22, and 23 at Roaring Camp Meadows in Felton
and the Santa Cruz Mountains Harvest Festival September 29 in
Boulder Creek.

Music and escapism go hand-in-hand. “We want to take people on a journey,” says Motet vocalist, Lyle Divinsky. The Motet join the excellent musical lineup at the Sol Fest on Sunday, September 23. “In order to go on a journey, you have to participate. You can’t just simply let it happen around you. You have to give yourself into that journey. Everything is open. You’re free to be yourself. You’re free to go on that adventure and journey. We want to be the catalyst for listeners to understand themselves and the world around them.”
Local libations, a huge assortment of food to choose from, and clothing, art, and other fineries will delight between dancing, sunbathing, and catching up with friends.
