Who are the People in Your Neighborhood

by Valerie White

The people that meet when you’re walking down the street, in the bank, in a shop, what do you know about them? The people that you will read about here are those who are working behind the scenes each day making the world a better place. These are people who have inspired me, and I hope their stories will inspire you.

Reginia Klamner

Reginia has worked at Liberty Bank in Boulder Creek for fifteen years. She is also a certified Herbalist whose specialty is her incredible Elderberry syrup.  She also makes balms, creams and other herbal remedies that help keep our community healthy.

Reginia joined the Oddfellows group because she wanted to help the community and make a difference. Having grown up in foster care, she especially wanted to help orphans and forgotten teens. When she found out that her grandmother’s grandfather had helped form the third Lodge formed in the USA, she knew she was meant to be there. Among the many things she does, she helps with the cleanup of the old cemetery and donates her time and lap blankets to the nursing home affiliated with the Lodge. She and Ebin Warner started a soup night on Wednesdays for those who were in need of a hot meal. It has now grown to a dinner for the entire community with the help of Chef Eric Adema.

Reginia works with the High School to offer volunteer opportunities to the students. For fun she makes beautiful jewelry which she donates to various organizations. She especially likes to donate to Valley Churches at Christmas for the teenagers who are often forgotten when people are donating toys for the younger children.

Reginia believes that no act of kindness is too small, and that everyone has something that they can give, be it something tangible or their time and talents, or a simple smile to a stranger. And Reginia always has a beautiful smile for all.  She is truly a blessing in our community.
